There seems to be a an abundance of newspaper articles about rape, recently. It started, of course, with Mr Assange and the allegations that have been brought against him in Sweden. Did he do it? Does what he did (if he did it) constitute rape?  Is it all just a ploy to get him out of the country? (Do rape victims behave the way these women did?)  Whether you are 'for' or 'against' Mr Assange and his work with WikiLeaks appears to depend entirely on whether or not you think he raped those women. You can't, for example, be a firm believer in openness and honesty in a democratic country and be completely against an extradition to America whilst

I'm really passionate about people. I believe that people should be treated fairly and have equal opportunities. regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, hair colour, economic background or favourite breakfast cereal. I especially believe that people or are in (suffering from?) poverty need to be supported. Whether that's through benefits, community centres offering free classes, subsidised meals or scholarships to the top universities. I don't think anyone should have their chances in life limited by something that they cannot control - namely the family into which they were born. I think Art is the perfect way to express this. Art That Speaks

I've always liked Art - and films and books and songs and plays - that has something to say. This probably seems terribly obvious. After all, all Art - and films and books and songs and plays - says something, otherwise it would be pointless. But what I like, is when they say something - they convey a message - that really makes you stop and think. For example, lets say an artist paints an exquisite water colour with the intention of telling people that -lets say- capitalism is a bad thing. He or she might do this by painting a poor starving man next to a wealthy but cruel business man. Which is all well and good - the audience understands
